6 Months Old

Blake just turned 6 months old on 2-28-09! It has gone by so fast!

Here is a little list of milestones for the grandparents. =)

Milestones for the 6th month*

*Your baby now can sit on his own.
He is sitting on his own but tends to fall over from time to time. I believe this might be more of a weight issue.

*He rocks and pivots while lying on his stomach.
He does rock but not so much pivoting.

*Baby can roll from his back onto his stomach–and back again.
He likes to just roll from stomach to back. He doesn’t really like to be on his stomach to much.

*Baby can eat a cracker.
We haven’t tried this one yet. Waiting on a few more teeth.

*He can pick up a small object.
Not a good idea with everything going into the mouth.

*Baby has more than doubled his birth weight.
We have almost tripled our weight. Birth weight was 8lbs 7oz and now we are 22lbs 11oz.

*He can say vowel-consonant combinations.
If “ah goo” is a vowel-consonant then will check this one off.

*Baby expresses unhappiness when an object or toy is taken away.
He does show a little temper from time to time.

*He can pass objects from one hand to another.
Then insert into mouth.

*Baby looks for dropped toys.
Then waits for you to pick it up.

*He has discovered himself in the mirror, and loves having conversations with this new little friend.
He thinks he’s pretty funny.

Blake has a date with the photographer at 5:00pm today for his 6th month pictures! I’m so excited because these will be our first outside pictures so check back in a few days to see how cute they are. I just hope that the weather is good! Have a good week and God Bless!
