This is my 2 year anniversary since my surgery at MD Anderson. For those that don’t know I had surgery because I was diagnosed with Melanoma Skin Cancer. It was a hard lesson learned about just how important it is to take care of your skin! I must say that I am guilty of tanning beds and direct sun exposure! You don’t realize how serious skin cancer can be or how fatal. You might also know that my mother has had to deal with this as well. My mother also had surgery and this being the reason that I went in for a check up. We now have yearly visits to MD Anderson in Houston. We just went this past November and were told that we were clear. Praise The Lord! I do however have to go to my Dermatologist / Best Friend every 3 months. I just went to her last week and the results were good. I can not even count the number of biopsies that I have had. I think that it’s around 40 or so. (It feels like) So take care of your skin and

This Past Weekend
Ok, I know you all are waiting to know about “The Hunt” well I did let James go. I am however wishing that I would not have because if you can only imagine how fun he is to live with after being up 30 straight hours! Grumpy! They did place 11th out of 119 teams. Totaling 6 Coyotes and 2 Bobcats! I just can’t imagine driving around looking for varmints to kill and after something is killed they throw it in the back of the truck with them! SICK!
We had a good weekend but fast! Jeri and Winston came in to see us (but really to see Blake). They came in on Saturday morning to watch Blake for me so that I could attend my good friend Kaydee Lewis (soon to be Bean) wedding shower. She will be Mrs. Kaydee Bean on February 28, 2008! We had a good time at her shower. The hostesses were Donna Lewis, Jaime Lewis, Kate Richardson, (Beverly Havins -my mom) and myself.

Sunday morning I decided to take Chase and Blake to Sunday school. I picked up Chase for Sunday school and we headed to his favorite place McDonald's for some breakfast. I think that Nonie and Grampy (Jeri and Winston) did not want to leave Blake because they found us at McDonald's to say one last good bye! After we ate I dropped Blake off at his class and Chase went to his. It was really nice for me to be able to go to the adult class with no distractions from the little one. After class was over I went to pick up Blake and they told me that he did really well but that he looked as if he was upset for not getting any cheerios like the others! This child upset for not getting any food....... Below are a few pictures from Sunday night. Blake was hanging out watching some TV with his daddy.

Random
I know that it has been a while since my last blog and I do apologize for that! Things have been so busy after the holidays! We had a wonderful first Christmas with Blake and can not imagine life without him! He received so many gifts from Santa! One gift being a highchair and this was perfect since he is now eating baby food! I will definitely be posting pictures of that soon! We have changed him to Similac Sensitive Formula and can tell a huge difference in him. You can tell that he feels so much better and is not spitting up near as much (and less screaming). I just wish that I would have done this months ago! I can not believe that Blake is almost 5 months old! He is smiling all the time and even standing up with a little assistance! The Hunt:
James has been on vacation for the past 3 weeks. His first day back to work was today and I think that he was a little ready. It's hard work being Mr. Mom! He has found a new form of hunting while on vacation and lets just say I could handle the duck hunting but this one might take a little more of my patience. It’s varmint hunting! He went on a 12hr varmint hunt this past weekend 7 to 7. Who knew there were so many rules to varmint hunting? He was on a team with 4 guys. There were 30+ teams that had entered this hunt. There team did however win the “BIG CAT”.
They shot a Bobcat that weighed 23lbs. For killing this “BIG CAT” they also won $300.00 for the cat. He has asked me if I minded that he went on another hunt next weekend but this hunt will be for 24hrs! I told him that we would talk about it!
