My Gift Has Arrived!

Yesterday when I went to check the mail what did I find other then bills? A box for me! It was from Kristin Morrison http://cobyandkristinmorrison.blogspot.com/ . Kate Richardson http://chaseandkaterichardson.blogspot.com/ got together a blog swap and paired us up with people that we are not too familiar with. The idea was to look over the blog of person you were to buy a gift for to get ideas of what they might like. My apologizes to Kristin because my blog really talks about nothing other then Mr. Blake Fouts. However, I must say that she did a fantastic job!

Foot Spa in a box – Ok now this has to be one of the neatest things. It has all of the
necessities for a pedicure at home or on the go. It even comes with a
blow up foot spa!

Thank you so much Kristin for all of the wonderful gifts. It’s so exciting to receive a gift without knowing what it is. This has not happened in a long time because I always tell James and my parents exactly what I want. =)

11 Months Old!

*Milestones this 11th month*

Your baby now walks while holding onto furniture.

Blake is now walking all over the place by HIMSELF!

He uses the "pincer grasp" to pick up tiny objects between his thumb and forefinger.

O yes, he is picking up everything insight!

Baby can stand alone.

He has Master this.

He drinks from a cup.

Well, a sippy cup that is.

Baby says "mama" and "dada."

Also Waves and say ByeBye and Ut Oh

He says a few other one-syllable words (like "hi").

I know that he is saying a few other words but we just can’t make it out yet.

Baby communicates his wants with gestures and words instead of cries.

Yes, and he can also get mad and show his temper when he wants something.

He talks in conversational gibberish.

Blake and his cousin Riley love to have the "gibberish conversations"!

I am so blown away with the thought of Blake being so very close to 1 year old! This year has been o so bittersweet! I’m not going to go into great detail such as the day he was born or every different stage of his little life (I’ll save that for his 1 year post) but he has accomplished so many different tasks over this past year. Our life has truly been blessed and I can not even begin to imagine life without him!

First Haircut!

I took Blake to get his first haircut last week because he was getting a little shaggy! I tried so hard to wait until his first Birthday but I felt like we needed to go ahead and get it cut since he couldn’t see and he has started walking. He was so good! He just sat there holding his sucker. When he decided that he wanted to take a lick he made the most awful face because he licked the hair that had fallen on the sucker. Oops I didn’t think about hair sticking to a sucker! Sorry Blake!

Who would have thought that just a little trim would make him look so much older?

He’s Walking!

I have always known that by putting Blake in daycare I would miss a lot of his firsts but even with him not at daycare I still miss things! This past weekend Blake and I were at my parents house and I told my dad to watch Blake while I went to get him his juice cup. I then hear my dad say Brooke you better get in here. I rush back to the living room to see Blake falling to his knees in the middle of the room with a ball in his hand! I asked my dad, did he stand up by his self? My dad’s response was yes and then he took about 3 steps to get the ball. What? He was walking??? I could not believe that I turned away for a minute a missed him take his first few steps! Later that night we got him to do it again and he took 5 steps this time. We all got so excited that we started clapping and saying yea Blake…. I think that we scarred him a little because he jumped and fell down. He was so happy that he also started clapping! I tried to get a video of him but he wanted nothing other then to crawl for the rest of the night.

What a Weekend!

Hello All! I know it’s been a while since the last blog and I do apologize for that but I have one little boy that’s keeping me very busy these days! We had a great weekend. Friday night we went to a cookout at our friend’s Ryan and Karianna’s house and did a little swimming too! Blake is turning into quite the little swimmer! They have a little girl that is almost 1 year older then Blake so they keep each other very entertained. On Saturday I helped hosted a baby shower for one of my dear friends Amy “Byers” Berardi. We are so excited and can not wait for the arrival of Baby Lawson. I just have a feeling that he and Blake will be the best of friends! They already have a lot in common with their daddy’s being fireman!

After the shower we went and ate dinner at my parents so that James could watch the UFC Fight (or as I like to call it a blood bath) with my brother and dad. Then yesterday we had a restful day. We went to church but Blake had to stay in the nursery because he now likes to talk during church. After church we had lunch and then Blake and I took a nap! I’m just so thankful that he is letting me take naps now! Not just 20 minute ones either this was a 2 hour nap! After we woke up we took a trip to Wal-Mart for some things and also to get the ingredients to make some banana pudding to take to the fire station. Blake just gets so excited these days when he sees his daddy so we took a trip to the station to say hello! I know that it’s hard on James not being able to see Blake for 24 hrs straight and now that he is back in school he sometimes goes 48 hrs because by the time James gets home in the evenings from class Blake is asleep. So we go see him when we can. I am so proud of James for going back to school! He only has 12 hrs left to finish so hopefully he will be an MSU graduate this coming December! After we got back from the station we had another cookout at my parents. I just love this time of year but I do wish it was not 105 at 7:30pm! I hope you all have a great week!
